Last week we hosted our first ever Awareness Day in the University Hospital of North Tees.
The whole Neoangels Team were there and we were joined by Julie King and Katy Smith, two of our amazing staff nurses and our Housekeepers Kay and Glynis gave us a hand setting up and making our stalls look beautiful!
We spent the day raising awareness of our Neonatal Unit, premature and sick babies as well as the work we do. We ran a raffle to win a mega Marks & Spencer hamper, sold our merchandise as well as running a bonus ball competition for our Apple Mac Book Pro.
Between our eye-catching photos of our babies and our brilliant tiny onesie and nappy bunting (thanks for the idea Dee!), people couldn’t help but come over and find out if babies are really born that small! The answer of course, was yes!
The day was filled with fun and we were even visited by many parents who had come in especially to see us with their little ones – this really did make our day!
We had an incredibly successful day, not only did we raise awareness, got to speak to and see so many families, gain support from staff in the hospital – we also raised £360!!!
We’re already busy planning our next one, so watch this space!
